Company

Chad Dubea and Greg Grillo founded Astudent Card to have “A” single student identification card with multiple functions to engage teachers and parents in driving students to Academic Excellence.

Additionally, the ID card tracks and notifies parents or guardians of students entering and exiting a school bus.

The Executive Team

Chad Dubea

Chad Dubea spent the last 14 years learning and understanding human behavior. In 2005 he started his 1st company.

Over the course of the 7 years he held the CEO position, he helped grow it to more than 1,400 employees. In 2013 Chad founded The Foundation for Fallen Electrical Linemen, a 501c3, whose mission is to help families of wounded and fallen electric utility industry linemen.

In 2014, Chad made a movie starring John Travolta and Sharon Stone titled “Life on the Line” to bring recognition of the hard-working men and women in the electric utility industry.

Greg J. Grillo

Greg spent 33+ years working for a fortune 500 company in the electric and gas utility industry.

Thirty of those years he was in various leadership positions from a supervisor to vice president. He learned a great deal about managing people and their performance. The key is providing Immediate, Consistent and Expected (ICE) feedback for both desired and un-desired behaviors. This was especially important when dealing with safety performance.

When Greg retired, he teamed up with Chad Dubea and the two worked together to develop Astudent Card.

How Astudent Card Started

Beginning

Chad partnered with Greg in 2015 with the mission of helping companies and their teams improve overall performance with a software application program called “The Career Card”. The two of them met with a school board in Texas to share the functionality of the The Career Card and the proposal of providing every graduating senior one as they graduated and were planning to start their career paths.

Inspiring School's Nation

The school board was so impressed with the concept and functionality of the card that it was voted on unanimously to run a pilot. The district superintendent asked if they could help with their growing need to monitor the safe transportation of students to and from school. Chad and Greg agreed to support and “Astudent Card “was born. It now provides the opportunity for schools to have A ID card with multiple functions for the same cost as IDs for students with no functionality.

The mission

“Provide a functional student ID card and a platform that’s easy to use that improves student behavior, attendance, and overall academic performance.”
